Hello family!
So it´s kinda weird writing you when in just a couple of days we will be talking face to face, but no biggie, I´ll write anyway. I loved the picture of Peter Pan! It looks like it was super fun. And Ammon, don´t sweat the smaller role, just remember that´s it´s just your junior year. Next year you´ll be leading man in all the shows. And I´ll be there to see them. Weird. But I suppose that´s life. So to father´s request, I´m going to tell you about a normal day. I get up at 7 like normal, and from that point until about 9:30 everything is normal missionary. Getting ready, personal study. Then we head into the office. I have enough work that I could be in here all day every day and never get it all done. Organizing of files, different projects that I would like to do and always the constant phone calls from all the missionaries asking for money and help. But it´s fun. The normal things I do are to pay for the utilities of the 90 apartments we own and refund some money to missionaries and journal. Not sure if you all know what journaling is, but is basically just the technical accounting away to know where all our money is going. I have to journal everything. Every single cent that goes or comes into the mission, I know about. Kinda fun. But sometimes not really at all :) Lots of work though. From that point onward, it all depends in the day. Some days we eat a small lunch in the office and continue working until like 5 or 6 other days we eat at 4ish and other days we just forget to eat all together. We usually try to get some proselyting time in, and usually we get a few visits, but sometimes we are here in the office all day. Those are the long days. We also try to be done with everything on the normal schedule. At about 10 we finish and by 11 we´re in bed. Usually we´re pretty good with that, but sometimes things happen and we are up later. During transfers I hear they are often up until almost 2 in the morning getting everything figured out. But we´ll see how much truth there is in that when we get to a transfer. But that´s my life right now. We work hard, but on pdays we play hard too. Today we went bowling, which was a lot of fun, and you know all about the monkeys, so that is fun too. Sadly I believe I would be arrested and thrown into a British rocky island prison if I stole one of their monkeys. But we´ll just buy one when we get home :) Oh and the monkeys bite. They bit my comp actually. Kinda funny. So I hope you have a wonderful next couple of days and I´m super super excited to talk to you all. Keep up all the good work with all you are doing there (basketball, drama, physiology).
Love you lots,
Elder Flint

life in the office
Hello my family,
Sounds like you guys had an awesome missionary type week. One of my favorite parts of the mission is being able to see people make that first sacred covenant with the Lord. It´s such a joyous occasion and the spirit always testifies strongly of the goodness of the step they are taking. Super awesome! Thank you for sending the package, I´m excited to get it :) And thanks for taking care of the international driver´s permit, I´m really anxious to drive! I´ve missed it a lot. And driving here is a little crazy at times, but I´m a good driver ;) And we just got a brand new car here and I´m itching to take it for a spin. But in a completely safe way :) So to answer a few questions. Do I think I´m going to Morocco. Honest answer is, not likely. The area has been closed for over a year and it´s still a little dangerous for Americans to go there after that stupid Muhammad movie that guy made. But it would be really funny and kinda ironic if I did. I remember president Deere telling me ever since I got called to Valdepeñas that I´d get the chance to serve in a bigger ward. Still haven´t :) Valdepeñas: branch of about 25, Badajoz: branch of about 50, Mijas International: branch of about 20...I guess we´ll see what comes next :) But I love branches, I just love missionary work. It´s hard at points and at points I beat myself up because I don´t feel like I´m doing my best, but I know that I´m trying and that it´s just that dumb Satan guy that tries to convince me otherwise. So let me tell you about our schedule here in the office. We try to get out and teach whenever we can. The last few weeks have been really crazy because we received new missionaries and stuff so we hardly had any time to do anything other than be in the office figuring things out. But this is the normal (new) schedule for us. We get up like normal (most days. I´ll explain later) and have a normal morning up until about 10 o clock. Then we head into the office and work up until about 1ish. Then we take a little lunch (in the office) and continue working until 5ish. At that point we go to our piso to eat dinner (it´s super weird because we´re now on kinda an American schedule) and at 6:30-7ish we are working until the end of the night. Now that is our schedule, but there are times where it just doesn´t work out. There are times where we are in the office finishing things up to the early hours of the morning. From what I´ve heard there have been weeks where the Elders have had to be here until 2 in the morning to get things done before transfers. With 229 missionaries that are traveling all of the southern half of Spain, things get crazy. So when that happens they are usually commanded by the mission nurse to sleep in a little. Obviously they are getting the same amount of sleep as the other missionaries, just at a later time, but it´s super different. But we are just normal missionaries with a lot of responsibility :) Kinda crazy how much actually. But it´s interesting. It´s hard at moments, because it doesn´t feel like missionary work, but then you remember how absolutely vital it is that you are doing this so that everyone else can get their work done. Our main purpose is to save other missionaries proselyting time, and that allows us to fulfill our other purpose of bringing others unto Christ. And honestly there are many moments where I really love the office. It allows me to serve others all day every day, and even though there are moments of very high stress, it´s really nice to know that you are helping.
So you wanted to hear a little more about the obra de teatro. I´m not sure what else to tell you. Have you ever seen ¨My Turn on Earth¨. Because it was based off that. It was a grandmother reading a story to her grandchildren and then the rest of the people act it out. We used some of the songs from the musical but basically changed the whole thing. You remember that one church video we had with the kids and the worm and the bird that all sang primary songs? And there was the kid with cookies or something like that? Well some of the songs that are in that video are in the play too. Like "Once Upon a Time," and "Everybody Ought to Have a Body." But we had to translate it all and then I had to choreograph, direct and music direct it all! But luckily I had a co-director who was awesome! But that´s basically it.
So didn´t get much of a chance to tell you about my week, but it really wasn´t that interesting. We did explore an old abandoned castle type thing, which was pretty fun, but that´s about it. Other than that, just normal office/missionary work. But things are going great. Thanks for everything and keep me posted with details about everything. I want to see more pictures of Peter Pan when you can get them off facebook or whatever (who´s doing the photos now that Amy Paulson is gone?).
Love you all!

ALOOOOOHAAAAAAA!!!!
Not sure why I said that, but maybe it´s because I´m on the coast now and see the ocean quite often. So let me tell you all a little about my week. So first thing. I was pretty sure I was going to be moved. I had been with my comp for two transfers (which is usually the max) and I just felt like a change was coming. It was. So president usually calls on Friday or Saturday. Most of my calls have come late Friday or on Saturday at any time. So on Thursday night, my comp looses the cell phone. So I´m like a little stressed that the call would come and we wouldn´t have the phone, but not too bad because usually he calls later. Or so I thought. Friday we are looking desperately for our cell phone and call the Hermanas from the church. They tell us that president had called at 8oclock that morning. AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!. So we eventually find out where our phone is, but aren´t able to get to it until 4 that afternoon. Eventually we get in contact with president and he tells me that I´m going to be the new financiero (a huge responsibility) AND that I was going to be leaving the next day right after the musical. Woah. That´s pretty intense stuff. So I a nut shell this is what happened. Saturday morning, we had a baptism with Mané. It went smoothly and we had not problems with anything. He got baptized and I was able to see as the spirit worked within him and allowed him to feel the purity and love of his Father in Heaven. Later that afternoon we had a musical. The chapel was full (it´s not a very big chapel, but we were still excited for it). Lots of investigators came and things with the actual play went great. It was short, but a lot of fun. I basically directed, musical directed and choreographed the whole thing (well choreographed half). It was intense. But a lot of fun, and a good learning experience. The hard part came after the play. I hadn´t told anyone I was leaving. So I said afterwards to all the "good jobs" and stuff like that, hey, I´m leaving, can you sign my journal? They weren´t too happy. But that´s life I suppose. I only had about 24 hours notice and I didn´t want it to affect the play at all, so I kept quiet. But I think they probably got over it. It´s hard to leave an area, especially when everything in front of you is hard to see and a little menacing (meaning the office) but we made it through. We also had the chance to talk with Elder Ruiz de Mendoza, an area seventy. He told me something that I really liked. He talked about joy. He talked about what joy is and how we can use it or feel it. Basically what he said was that joy is more than happiness. Joy is something we can feel even through tears, pain, grief, and in the middle of whatever trials we are passing through. Sure we might not be happy about the situation, but we can still have joy. Because joy comes from a knowledge of what is up ahead. And what is ahead? Eternity. Eternity as a family, eternity with our Father in Heaven. So as long as we are doing what is correct, no matter what happens, we can feel joy. And right now I feel it. The mission has allowed me to feel joy. Even in the moments where I am not happy, and they do happen, I still feel joy. And sure there are even times where I loose that joy, but those are the moments that I need to change what I´m doing. Sin is the only killer of joy, and the way to fix joy is to repent. I love repentance. So much that I use it every day :) We all need it, and the fact that it is available to all of use is amazing. So keep on repenting, I´m right there with you all! I love you all so much and hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I sure did! We had a turkey dinner with all the missionaries in the Málaga and Granada zones and then we played football with our mission president. The highlight of the game was a trick play by president Deere. He was the quarterback and after snapping the ball he handed it off to his 17 year old daughter Annie and shouted, " DON´T TOUCH HER!!" So we didn´t :) And she ran into the end zone for a touchdown. Super funny. But things are great. Oh I have one more request for the Christmas package, if it is not yet sent. You know those "That was easy," Staples buttons? Well you can buy them at Staples and for some reason I really want one for my desk here in the office. Add some comic relief for the long hard days. Thanks for everything and send me some pics of Peter Pan! And the baptism!

Hello famillia mia!
This week has been a good one. Through all the ups and downs of emotions that I am feeling too (and they are definitely there, so I´m with you all in that), a lot of people have helped me out this week. One of the Hermanas (hna. Wilcox) helped me out a lot in remembering our purpose as missionaries and trusting in the Lord. President Deere reached out in love to help us as much as he can (if we ever decide to have a special fast or prayer, he wants to join us). And Elder Castillo, a senior missionary, also extended a loving hand and let me know that I could call him whenever I need too. And then we also have those that are always there for me. Loving words from all of you and Amaya that help me realize that I´m not even close to being alone, and of course the comforting feelings from my Father in Heaven that keep me going. At times I feel like I´m in a boxing ring with Satan and he keeps punching me over and over and over again in the face, until I can´t take it and fall to the ground. At that moment the Lord picks me up, brushes me off, and sends me back in to get my butt kicked again :) But I know that I can take the punches, because the Lord is on my side and one day, it will end. So just keep it up fam! I love you all so much and I´m praying for you all with all my might.
So you wanna here a bit about our investigators. Right now we really only have one good progressing investigator, but even he has many problems. His name is Mané (pronounced man-a...pues sorta) He has changed so many things, but he just isn´t quite ready yet. He has a baptismal date for this saturday, but with his struggles we can´t let it go through. His biggest problem is that he smokes. He has been quiting, but he is still smoking with an electronic cigarette. And smoking is smoking, whether it be with a cigarette or an electronic one. So today we are going to go to his house and explain to his true repentence. True repentence involves a few steps, the first it to recognize the sin, the second is to stop doing it, that´s where Mané stops with the smoking thing. He hasn´t stopped. He says he wants to stop the day of the interview, but we don´t feel like that is enough time. Or better said the Lord does not feel like that is enough time. I have been searching very diligently for revelation the last few days. I asked for a priesthood blessing and have been fasting to know how to teach Mané and what to teach. This is what the Lord told me to do, teach about repentence, and help him understand that he can be baptized, he just needs to show the Lord his willingness to follow him completely. It´s a tough call. I mean I´m probably going to be leaving this week (nothing positive yet) and I´ll personally miss the baptism. Also we may not have it in this month and the zone leaders are always wanting more from us. But I cannot let someone make a covenant unworthily. That guilt would weigh me down my entire life, especially if he returned to smoking. So hopefully the Lord will give us strength and the words to say.
Other than that things are pretty normal here. The play is coming right along and we are going to be putting it on this Saturday! I´m a little nervous, but it will all be good. You´re going to have to make sure to get a video of Peter Pan for me, I want to see how it goes. Great story with Mom VS Mrs. Dunn. Mom probably does trump drama teacher, but normally Mom isn´t going to destroy said person for not going to a rehearsal ;) Much more danger from Mrs. Dunn. Just kidding....pues sorta. Skyler, you´ll have to send me some pics of your new apartment, pretty crazy stuff! Say hello to grandma for me and everyone else, including Hna. Brimhall if you see her :) I love you all and am super excited to see you on Christmas!
Love,
Elder Flint
PS Logan, they don´t celebrate Thanksgiving here :( Entonces no turkey for me. But such is life. Love you all!

hola
Hola familia mia,
Entonces vamos a luchar. I said that I know that times are tough. For me they are tough too. This is a rough situation that I wouldn´t wish upon any other person. But what can we do? Well first we can trust the Lord. Completely and fully. We can submit to his will whatever it may be. He knows what´s best for us much better than we do and as scared as we are, as scared as I am (and I am very scared) I know that they Lord will help us through it all. Second, we can fight. We will fight this sickness from all angles. First off physically. Like you are already doing we will go through all the steps we can. All the options we have from the doctors. Secondly we will fight spiritually. This is the time to live the gospel more than we have ever lived it before in our lives. It is time to pray with all our strength, read the scriptures every day and apply what we learn, and help all those we come in contact with feel the love of our Heavenly Father. I want you all to commit to me to do that. I am going to give my all 110% out here in the field so that we can recieve the help we need (keep in mind that the help we need is not necesarily a cure. What we are fighting for is the way to move forward, be that what it may). So I want you all to take this very seriously. Please let me know how things are going with the goal. I´ll be letting you know how things are going here. I promise you all that if we do this, we will be able to make it through this trial with all the help we need from our Father in Heaven. He truly loves us, and I truly love every single on of you. I miss you all so much, and am super excited to talk to you here in a month. I testify that Jesus is the Christ, that miracles have not ceased. I see them daily, and I know that they happen not when we want them, but when the Lord sees fit. Keep that in mind throughout this whole journey, we are on the Lord´s time and will, but it IS best for us. Also remember the promise we do have. The Lord promised our family in his holy house that we would be together for time and all eternity. And we will be, as long as we live worthily of that convenant. So live worthy, pray often, STUDY the scriptures, and join with me in giving your all to the Lord. He will protect us and guide us through whatever trial we may face.
So my week has been okay. We had a slow one and got a lot of flack from our zone leaders for it, but we are trying. We really are. Sometimes that darn agency thing just gets in the way :) But it´s all good. You want to hear a funny story? So yesterday we went to eat in the house of a member. We had an awesome barbeque and everything was good. But afterwards we went to the chapel so I could get numbers from the rest of the district and my comp realized that he had lost the keys. So we called the family that fed us and they couldn´t find them. But we had an activity we had to do, so we decided that the Lord would provide the way as long as we kept looking. So Elder Pomazón looked through the capilla and we had our activity. We had another appointment scheduled for 7:30 so we had to run to that and just kept going, hoping that the Lord will help us out. After the cita we went to go fix a few things in a members house and that´s when it really hit me that we didn´t know where we were going to sleep. So we came up with a few ideas and called President Deere. He didn´t pick up for a while and we were flippin out. The owner of our piso (whom we had called before) wasn´t answering either and me and Elder Pomazón were just planning on sleepin on the sofas in the church. Eventually we got things figured out, but in the process my suit coat got burnt on a stove :( So it was a super crazy day. We didn´t actually find the keys until this morning, but the owner called us back super late and gave us some spares. But that´s my crazy story for the week. It was kinda funny, but not so much during it :) The worst part is my suit coat. Luckily I have two, but I need to get my other one cleaned because it´s kinda dirty. But I suppose we are just living like the missionaries of old. D&C 84:81 "Therefore, take ye no athought for the morrow, for what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, or wherewithal ye shall be clothed." :) Well I love you all so much and am praying for you all everyday. Sorry to hear about Floribertos, how super lame! But I suppose 6 o clock breakfast burrito runs are pretty good too. Looks like Halloween was pretty awesome. Loved the costumes of Sophie and Micah. And you have snow!?! Lucky ducks. Here it doesn´t snow, but such is life. I can´t believe that Leah´s getting baptized!!!!! That´s so awesome! Send me pictures, okay? And send them my congratulations and love. And Skyler and Logan seemed to have had the same week :) But it sounded like a good one. Enjoy thanksgiving, I´m going to see if I can´t get my hands on some turkey :) Love you all a ton and have a wonderful week!

Happy Birthday Micah
First off HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTTHHHHHHHDDDDDDDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY MMMMMMMMMMMMMMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like you had kinda a stinky one, because you were sick, but I´m glad you got lots of candy. I didn´t :/ But that´s mostly becuase here they don´t really celebrate Halloween. I can´t believe it´s snowed already! Here it doesn´t snow, it rains. So unless I get moved before Christmas to Granada, I´m in for a brown Christmas instead of a white one. But it´s all good. I just like Christmas! Speaking of, I would love another money card. You can make it for whatever price. The big thing I want to buy is a Spanish suit. I´m going to be buying it cheap, so it should be from 40€ to 70€. But that´s all. Not sure what else I want, I´m pretty content :) Maybe some good socks, mine are kinda wholly :/ Or some nice kahki or light gray slacks (they are now allowed, see dress and grooming standards in lds.org :) ). But really I can´t think of anything else that I want or need. Just be creative :) Some nice piano music is also always appreciated.
So this week went well. It was a very average week and I´m okay with that. Sometimes I feel like we do the same thing every day (maybe it´s because we do) but you always have a new experience. This week I´ve really just been able to feel a lot of ups and downs and very stressed out. But I´ve learned a lot of patience, or better said, I´m learning a lot of patience. It´s seems that at times the Lord likes to hold things back to throw everything at us at once. That´s kinda how I´m feeling right now. But I know that the Lord has a plan for me, for all of us really. And I know without a doubt, that he loves us, and that no matter what happens, it will be for our benefit. The Lord doesn´t want to see us suffer, but even more than him not wanting to see us suffer he wants to see us grow. And he knows, just as well as we do, that growing doesn´t come from sitting in still waters. We have to have some movement to get us where we need to go. Sometimes there are rapids, but what we have to remember is that no matter what the Lords not going to let us drown. We might tip and fall out but, like one of my favorite quotes says, our lifeguard walks on water, he´ll save us, as long as we take his hand. I love you all so much. You have helped me so much. Through your examples and all you do. Have a wonderful week and keep me updated with everything. Stay strong!

Happy Halloween
Hello family!!!!!
I loved the pictures! It looks like a ton of fun! So to answer some questions. Here in Spain they celebrate Halloween, not dia de los muertos. They really don´t do much, it´s just normal. From what I´ve heard it´s a pretty new tradition. Ten years ago nobody did anything for Halloween, but now they do. But the kids dress up and go around asking for candy. Just like normal. But it´s way cooler in the states. I miss haunted houses! You have to go to Castle of Chaos in Orem for me and let me know how it is. I dare you to get the light up necklaces :) But I think I got all the differences. The crocodile ate Savannah, the clown with the gun stopped smoking (must have met the missionaries :) ) The Anti Nefi Lehi changed his ways and buried his weapons of war deep into the earth. The Zombie decided to try out for the Thriller video and started dancing, Soccer man decided with the World Cup coming up it was time to start practicing. The wizard turned out to be a squib and forgot how to hold his wand. The old lady turned herself into the wicked witch to go get Snow White. And the nerd, that was a hard one, but I think she decided to keep her most precious orange pen to herself, for when she studies instead of letting everyone else see it. But that´s what I saw were the differences :) I´m glad you had a good time at the Halloween party. It´s weird to think that next year half of our missionary cousins are going to be back. AJ comes back in 6 months!?!?!?! Crazy weird. And then 6 months later I get back. WEIRD! But it´s all good. I´ve just realized how fast life really goes. ANd how much we need to use the time we have. This week was a good one to remind me of that. That even though things are hard, the work has to be done and we really don´t that long to do it. We were walking in the rain and the cold all week, but we knew that we were doing the work of the Lord and he was walking with us. I´m so grateful for the Gospel. I testify that our Savior lives. That he loves us. He really is watching out for us at all times. I´m so grateful for him and for all of you. You are amazing examples to me. I wish I had more time to write you, but the honest truth is that I have no money so I can´t be on any longer, because I wouldn´t be able to pay it :/ That´s the problem with lots of travel haha. But thank you so much for everything. Hopefully the chickens will be happy in heaven and those mean dogs will suffer the wrath of the Lord :) Thanks for the recipe, now we´re just missing Zuchini bread ( I´ve learned to be super pesado here in the mission, Dad can tell you what that means.) Thanks for everything and think of me when you eat all your candy and I have none :( Oh but mom, guess what! There is a super mercado here called Carrefour. Right now until Christmasish they have boxes and boxes full of Lindor truffles. There are like 15 different flavors and you can buy them one by one. They´re super expensive, but super good. I´ll try to send you a picture because it´s impressive with all of them there. But thought you would appreciate that :) I love you all so much. Keep going strong!

Hola familia!
Well how goes it? Sounds like things are pretty great. You saw In The Heights!!!! Lucky! Did you film it illegally for me? I sure hope so :) Thank you for the recipes. I do have two requests though. Zuchini bread, and red pepper dip. Hook me up, por favor! I can´t believe you basically did the whole driveway by yourselves! That´s crazy cool. And you´re getting a new car! Very sweet. You´re keeping the van and the sonata though, right? You know, if you ever want to get rid of one of the three, I know a missionary that will be coming back in a year, and would definitely not mind having a car to go to school :) Just keep him in mind. Things here are going well. This last week was a pretty normal one. Nothing too exciting. Did have a disappointing little bit though. One of our investigators that is doing well, didn´t come to church. Well that´s fairly normal, but the hard thing is that this week he is going to quit smoking and I knew that he would need the extra strength from the capilla to do it. And he chose not to, so now I´m not sure what will happen. My faith in the Lord and his work is unshakeable right now, but my faith in people is dwindling. Is that bad? Is it bad to doubt people and their decisions? I suppose in a way it is. But it´s just so hard! I mean, I´ve spent my whole life being a pretty optimistic person. Thinking that things are going to go well, hoping that people could be more than others think they can be. But after being failed so often, it´s hard to keep up that optimism. But I´m going to keep trying! The Lord knows us, and our capacity to do good. We each have so much potential, and although we don´t always reach our FULL potential, we can always do more than we believed we could at first. I truly believe that. That no matter what our difficulties, weaknesses, anything that stands in our way, we can become more than we believe we can become. And more than others believe too. But the only way to do it is the Lord´s way. He gives us the guide, we just have to do it. We have to set high goals, plan, and then reach them. Our branch president told us about something that Elder Ballard said in a conference for bishops and branch presidents in Madrid and few months ago. He said that so called "realism" is really just a lack of faith. I mean, of course we aren´t going to be ridiculous in our goals, but optimism is really just a synonym for faith. If we believe that the Lord can help us do something, than he can. He has no limit, we limit him when we don´t believe. Or better said, we close the door to the help that we need when we don´t believe. So I suppose, al final, is that I just need to keep going. We all do. The Lord is fighting the fight with us. He is on our right hand and our left and his angels are round about us bearing us up. I love you all. I´m so greatful to have you in my life. Thank you so much for your wonderful examples!
Con mucho amor,
Elder Charlie Flint
Oh and PS: I will be singing. We are basically doing our own version of the musical with the same music and basic story. My part is Jesus, but I have other singing parts too. Love ya! And tell me more about in the Heights! And maybe just a touch about what the heck is happening in the States, I´m hearing a lot of things and I´m not sure what to believe. LOVE YOU!

Roman Ruins in Merida
Ruins of an old Roman fortress that was taken over and changed by the Islams
Me and Elder Pomazon by the bridge
Me outside some kind of old building. Sweet.
Ruins of an old Roman house.
My favorite part: The old Roman Theater!
The Roman theater again. It is amazing!
Old Roman art from Mérida (aka Augustus Emeritas)
My wonderful family!
I am so sorry for not emailing you! I wanted to I promise, but the situation did not allow me to. I apologize. But you shall be getting some wonderful pictures of the adventure I did have in Mérida. There are some super wicked awesome Roman ruins there. There´s an old Roman theater that is amazing! Speaking of theater, yes, we are still going to do the show. I have been cast as Jesus. Big shoes to fill :) It will show the end of November, hopefully in Mérida. Not in the Roman theater, but in the plaza. But things are going really well. So there were a lot of questions from you all about food. So I thought I would respond. My favorite Spanish food is probably paella. I mean it is just plain amazing. I also love the spanish tortilla and a normal spanish salad (which consists of lettuce, tomato, tuna, corn, vineager, olive oil, and salt) Other than that, they have some other good stuff too. Chorizo here is awesome. They also have something called morcilla, which is blood sausage. It´s not too bad, but not my favorite. Also they have Jamon. Jamon is awesome and here in Extremadura they have the best jamon in spain (supposedly) Basically it´s just a pig´s leg that is soaked in salt for years. Pretty great. But other than Spanish food, I´m coming to love peruvian food. It´s super good! There is this stuff called seviche that is fish that sits in lemon juice for a few hours and gets cooked that way. It´s delicious! And also this stuff called lomo saltado. It´s basically steak mixed with french fries and cooked with peppers and delicious seasoning. Heavenly :) But I´ve been surviving mostly on rice and pasta :) We only eat well when we eat with members. But that´s okay. I also want some help from you guys with food. You each have an assignment (well other than Skyler because he read my mind :) ) You each need to send me a recipe of something delicious. In addition I want the recipe for Clam chowder, grandma´s rolls, and roasted red pepper dip. Those are my demands, take em or leave em :) You guys are the best. Really though.
So what did you think about conference? I LOVED it. Really it felt so good to be able to hear the modern day prophets that we tell so many people about speak the words of the Lord. I know that the Lord was directing the conference, no doubt in my mind. I especially loved Pres. Uchtdorf´s talk about coming back, and Pres Monson´s talks. There is so much power behind there words. I took notes a little differently this time. Instead of just writing down what I heard, I wrote what I felt. I thought, well I´ll have another chance to study the words again, this time I need to just get down what I feel. So I did. It was amazing. I found a lot of things that I needed to hear and a lot of questions where answered. I´m so grateful for modern day revelation! I love you all so much. Tell me something you learned in conference! And send me some pics of recents dates, dances, driveway destructions and everything else you can think of that starts with a D or any other letter :) I love you all so much! Thanks for everything (especially the recipe, Skyler :) ).
Con amor,
Elder Charlie Flint

Hello family!!!
You know what? I love you guys. I really do, and though I hate to admit it, I miss you. And I´m excited to see you again. But I think you just need to come up here, becuase even after the two years, I just want to keep being a missionary :) But I suppose I might have to do that in a different area in Utah. But the work still continues even after the mission. I´m glad to hear that things are going well. Sounds like Skyler is having a lot of wonderful opportunities and that things are going well with Ammon and plays and Logan and sacerdocio and Micah and whatever he is doing :) And the girls. For me things are going well. This last week my comp had to go have an interview with the police in Madrid (sounds sketchy, right?) to figure out some nationality things so I headed up to Sevilla for an entire week! It was fun, but it was awful being out of my area for a week. I felt lost. But I learned a lot from the zone leaders and it was great. But there is one thing this week that I learned that I think is going to change the course of my mission. As I sat in sacrament meeting yesterday I was thinking. I was thinking a lot about the area and what we could do to improve. As I thought I listened to the spirit and wrote down the ideas. I came up with five different people that we needed to focus on and had a meeting with our branch president and ward mission leader to discuss it. What it was that I learned was this. It´s not about numbers or "success" or anything, it´s all about people. Sure I knew that before and I tried to do it, but it was in that moment that I realized that it doesn´t matter how other people see the work that we´re doing. It doesn´t matter if the zone leaders see that we taught 20 lessons in a week or that the APs see that we have 5 baptismal dates or even that President sees that we had 3 baptisms last week. Although those things are wonderful, and I would definetly not turn them down, I realize now that the only person that sees our work and matters, is the Lord. And he also sees our hearts. When we are caring for his children, really worrying about their needs and their doubts, their desires and challenges, he sees that we are fit for the work and that we are ready for his help. As I thought for and cared for these people, the Lord filled my heart and mind with the things we need to do for them. I have said this time and time again, but it is so true: the Lord knows how to do HIS work. I am so grateful for that. I love you all. Thank you for your examples and your love. Keep up the good work and pray for a missionary experience this week. I know you all can do it! Especially you mom, I remember all your missionary work in Washington with Mirna (that was her name right?) I was telling someone about that the other day and was like, wow, my mom is a really good missionary :) Keep it up you all. I love you!
Elder Charlie Flint
PS My comp is good, Pdays we sometimes go to different places. Last week we were in Sevilla and there was a fair with different booths and countries. It was fun. This week we are going to a mall to find me a watch and going out to eat with our ward mission leader. Normally we just do fun things like that. Sometimes hikes or visiting cool castles and cathedrals. The weather here is actually really good right now. Well actually it´s raining, but the temperature is nice. But I think it will get a little cooler. I´m going to try to send fotos today. Hopefully I´ll have time. Oh quick question, is there a way to tell how much money I have on this cash card you gave me? I´ve used it quite a few times, and I´m not sure how much is left. If you could let me know that would be great. And remember how I said it would be better on my own card? Well that was a lie. That was just because I was in a tiny pueblo, here in Badajoz it is a great gift :) Thanks for everything, love you!

Well hello there family,
Sounds like things are going well for you all. Lots of exciting things happening right now. Here in Spain things are pretty exciting too. We had some really good experiences this week. We were given two references from our branch president of a man that he was in contact with. The man is from Peru but lives in a pueblo here in Badajoz. So they came down on Friday to meet us and see the capilla but it took us forever to find them. They don´t know Badajoz very well, so we spent forever trying to get to them. But eventually we did and we had a really good lesson with them. The man was with a friend and they both have strong connections to the church and a lot of interest in learning about the book of mormon. So we are really excited to see how things shape out. Also this week we had a cool experience with another investigator. His name is Mané. He is the novio of a member and really wants to learn about the church for her, and for himself too. But we had a lesson with him last week and after watching the Restoration video and talking for a few minutes he told us that he was feeling something he had never felt before. He said that he felt a peace, like he wanted to cry, but didn´t understand why. We told him it was the Spirit. Ever since that moment he has held on to that testimony of the Spirit. He has had a really hard week. The adversary is throwing every type of temptation and doubt in his path, but he told us that since he had that experience, he can´t go back. He told us that before he didn´t believe in God, but he does now. It was an incredible testimony strengthening experience. God is there, he does exist and his spirit testifies of him. I´m so grateful to be a part of this work. I love you all and am grateful for all your love and support. Keep on going! You´re doing great :) Love you and have a wonderful week.
Love,
Elder Charlie Flint
PS I want to see pictures of homecoming! Send me some! And then when I´m not in Sevilla (I´m in Sevilla right now) I´ll send you some too :)

Hey there fam!
Well I´m glad to hear that the house got sold and that things are getting a little less stressful bit by bit. Things here in España are going well. This week we worked and worked and worked and worked. Honestly we probably walked about 20 miles one day going from one place to another helping people fix lightbulbs and teaching lessons outside our area, it was crazy. But definitely worth it. Another awesome thing that happened this week. We went to a place called Mérida. Mérida is one of the oldest Roman communities here in Spain. It´s full of aquaducts, ampitheatres, chariot races circles, and the longest standing Roman bridge in Spain (it´s said that Paul the apostle walked across the bridge). Basically it´s super awesome. There used to be a branch there, but after a while the people moved away or became inactive and the rest started coming here to Badajoz to go to church. But President Deere and the Sevilla stake are really wanting to boost things back up again. So they´ve asked us to work there. So that´s what we´re doing. We went with the hermanas and our ward mission leader the other day and we worked in Mérida. We ended up finding the family of a menos activo and other investigators. It was pretty great. Also Hna. Wilcox a few weeks back had an idea. Her dad was in My Turn on Earth (church musical kinda like Saturday´s Warrior) back in the day and while he was a mission president they put it on in Chile. So she decided a great way to get the church going in Mérida (whose real claim to fame is the Roman ampitheatre that they have and the plays and things that go on there) would be to do the musical there. Turns out we have a proffesional actor that lives in our rama and he is willing to help us figure it all out. So that´s what we´re working on right now. Do you know what that means? It means I might get the chance to combine two of my favorite things to do; acting and singing, with missionary work, my other favorite thing to do :) Super pumped to see how it goes. But it´s super great. I have yet to see the Roman theatre but in the next few weeks I think we are going on a Pday there, so I´ll send some pictures. But that has been the most exciting thing for my week. And it sounds like your week has been fun too. Good job Micah on trying out! And you made call backs! That´s awesome! And Logan you filthy little Mudblood! Good work with the deacons quorum. Ammon or should I say Caesar, good work. And Skyler, I´m glad to hear you are doing well, just keep holding in there and things will be great. I think you would like being a vetrinarian a lot or maybe you could do something with forest services or something like that, helping find animals and saving them. But keep looking for the thing you really want to do. And mom I´m glad to hear that things are working out. You are the best. Really. You don´t deserve all the stress that you had to go through, but you stuck it out and now things are going to just get better. I love you and I´m so grateful for you. If you could send me Elder Driggs email I would really appreciate it.
Well that´s about it fam. I miss you all and love you all. Keep on doing what you´re supposed to and the Lord will bless you. Thanks for everything!

Hey guys,
So first off, don´t have a lot of time to write. Sorry about that but we have been gone all day :/ But it was a fun day, so that is good. This week has been a crazy one. Our whole district changed. Most of us were out of our areas for 4 days straight! So needless to say not a whole lot happened here in Badajoz recently. But I did get a new companion. His name is Elder Pomazón. He is from Peru, but lives in Madrid. He is 26 years old. Yeah that´s right, 26. I didn´t even think that was allowed! But I guess it is. So it´s a different experience working with him. But luckily things are going well. We have a great rama here and some great hermanas to help us all along the way. The newest hermana is named Hna Rawle. Lisa Rawle. She went to Maple Mountain and saw all of our plays in Salem. So she knows who I am, or at least all of my characters. Pretty crazy stuff. But things are going quite well.
So about Skyler. I think you know what to do better than me. Just love him. Encourage him to prepare himself for school, for life, and possibly, to come out on the mission again. Help him to know that the Lord is on his side, and that he will help him. The anxiety issue is one that will be there. But the Lord can strengthen him to become anything he needs to become. Just love him and give him a big hug sent from me.
Well honestly that´s all the time I have. But I love you all and I´m so grateful for all you do. Thanks and hugs from me for everyone.
Con amor,
Elder Flint
PS Ammon, good work with the dancing and with the ladies ;) Who is olivia Christian again? Me sueña the name, but I can´t put a face to it. Just send me pics. And Logan good work with being a stud. You know, you´re going to be famous. And then you can buy me cool stuff :) Love you all

Happy Birthday Charlie!
Well hello there family!
So first off want to thank you for all the birthday wishes! And I want to let you know mom that I got the package the day before my birthday and so I even waited to open it! Sunday morning I opened it all up and marvelled at the Americaness of all the food! Loved it :) But I must confess it was not the best present I got on my birthday. Let me explain. So last monday things were looking pretty bleak for the week. Didn´t really have that many potential investigators and a lot of the investigators we have weren´t even in town. So we were just expecting a hard time. On monday we had a family home evening with our branch president and an investigator. We invited her to be baptized on the 14th. She said no. Bummer. But we set up another meeting with her the next day. After the lesson on Tuesday we talked about baptism again. This time her answer was a little different. She basically just asked when she could be baptized. We said whenever, but said, why not in one or two weeks. She told us that she has a pretty busy schedule coming up, but that she would like to be baptized that Sunday if she could. We were a little shell shocked, but we said, of course you can be baptized this sunday. We set up lessons with her every day of the week and got an interview lined up for her on Saturday and on Sunday we were able to participate in a baptism. Yeah, Sunday, as in, my birthday :) It may have been the best birthday present I have ever recieved, the opportunity to witness someone enter into the waters of baptism and make an essential covenant with the Lord. Truly an amazing experience and a true testimony that the Lord´s hand is in everything. That´s basically what I want to share with you all today. Just that. The Lord´s hand is in all of our lives. I know things are tough right now for all of us. For Skyler especially. But I want you ALL to know that no matter how many houses we need to sell, how many classes we need to teach or take, how many hours of homework we may have, and how much despair and hopelessness may cloud our eyes, that the Lord is there just on the other side of the fog saying, just a few more steps, just a little while longer. I´m here, I´m going to help you. I love you all so much. I have seen the Lord work miracles and I know that no matter what happens, things will work out. Just keep to the basics, and the Lord will "make weak things become strong unto us". I love you all so much. Keep on keepin on :)

PS Transfers are this week. I´m not moving, but I´m training again. Super pumped for that :) Love you all

Hello family,
Thanks for the birthday wishes! It really is weird to be turning twenty this week. To be honest I don´t even have the package yet :/ It´s still sitting in Málaga and probably won´t get to me until after my birthday. But that´s okay! Because things are going well. So first off, a good story. So yesterday we ended a week of miracles as mission. We had a goal of getting 555 new investigators in one week. To put that in perspective, the most we have gotten is 230. So it was a pretty lofty goal. So we worked all week trying to get at least 7 investigators (that was the goal for every companionship). Our district had a goal of 21 and things at the beginning of the week were going great. We had gotten 3 by Thursday and were doing well. On Saturday we had 4 more news set up and things were headed in the right direction. But on Saturday all four of our meetings that we had set up fell through. So we were bummed. Really bummed. We almost gave up. On Sunday we kept going with some help from the Lord but when it was time to send in our numbers we hadn´t gotten another new and we were one short for our goal as a district. So we called in our numbers and as we were sitting down to do that a group of kids came up to play some soccer and stuff. After the phone call we started talking to the kids and eventually a group of young women came over too. They were kinda punks and started making fun of us a bit. But as we continued talking they started asking questions about the Book of Mormon and what we did. So we taught a lesson. And then we set up an appointment with one of the girls for this Wednesday. As we walked away, we realized, Hey, that was a new investigator! So we quickly called our District Leader and got it all figured out. So in the very last seconds the Lord led us to the investigator that would help us get our goal. As a mission we got 558 investigators last week, a miracle. The Lord knows how to do his work, I know that that is true.
So now on to other things, specifically Skyler. I sent him an email that I hope will help. Im going to forward it to you too. And I fasted (to be honest I almost forgot, but the Lord reminded me). I just want to say once again, that we need to let him know that if he does come home, he won´t be disgracing us or anything like that. If that door closes off, he is just going to want it more. But if he realizes that that door is open I think he will feel less like a bird in a cage, and will be able to step back and really think about what he is doing. And the consequences of it. He needs to realize the Lord´s love over everything. Right now he is miserable. That´s just the honest truth. But the only person that can change that is him. And the only way to do it is to help him realize that the Lord will always love him and loves him right now, even if he isn´t doing the best. I´m going to ask my mission president for advice, and we´ll see if we can help him. But don´t worry, he is in good hands, and no matter what happens, there is always chance to serve the Lord in whatever capacity. It´s amazing that he had the testimony enough to go. I know he says that he didn´t even think about it, but I know he did it because he loves the Lord. And the Lord loves him and will help him, even if he does come home.
I love you all so so much and I just want to say thank you for twenty of the best years anyone could have. I´m so grateful to have you all as my family. I couldn´t ask for anyone or anything better! Love you and have a good week!

hello family
Hello family,
How´s it going? I´m doing really good. Don´t know why I´m so great, but I´m just feeling really good right now. I think it´s because I just decided to work really hard and now I´m actually doing it and it´s the most rewarding thing ever. Really the mission is amazing. It sounds like you all are having some fun times. School starts this week?!?!?!?! Crazy. That means I´ve been out for almost a year. Weird. I feel like I just got here. So there´s a new temple movie!? Sick. I want to see it. Maybe I´ll just sneak up to Madrid to check it out. Broma :) I did go outside the mission boundaries today though. All the way to Portugal! But we have permission for that, so it´s not disobediant :) But it was pretty sweet. Now I can say I´ve been to France, Porgual, and Spain. Sweet! But it´s been really good. This week was honestly a really tough one. I was feeling really bad. Like really down on myself and stuff. I think the reason was because I was definitely not working in the way I should have. Sometimes you get tired. And these last few weeks I´ve been tired. Tired of walking and talking and going out in the 100+ weather and everything. So I just decided to take it slow and be inside a lot. That made me feel awful. I knew I wasn´t doing what the Lord needed, but I justified it. What else can I do? Things like that. But then I got really down on myself. I asked myself if I would be able to look the Lord in the eye right now and tell him that I´m taking care of this part of his vineyard and I decided, no I wouldn´t have been able to. So I knew I had to change something. So I did. I decided that no matter what or where or when or why, I would be sharing what I have. I´ll at least be ready and be the example, doing something to help the work progress. And when I´m out, I´ll be talking. And that´s what I started doing. And just like that, the Spirit was back and the fire was rekindled. And I´ll tell you what. It´s not going back out. There is so much more happiness in working than in relaxing. Sure there are moments when you want to quit, but working until you come home dead feels so much better than staying up thinking about all the people who you may have missed. I love this work. Especially the work part of it right now. I love you all and hope you are doing great. Keep up the scripture study and the prayers, they are so important. I love you all!

Hey there family,
It´s great to hear from you. I´m kinda a little stressed about Skyler now, but that´s okay. I´ll be praying really hard this next little while. For me things are okay. I´m having a hard time with my comp right now, but nothing I haven´t had before and nothing that I can´t handle. So yeah, I´ve had hard times too, and I told Skyler about them so I hope that will help. But anyway sounds like you all have had a fun week. Fun with chinchillas and tacos and spandex and all sorts of things. You saw World War Z, huh? A little bit of Brad Pitt. I heard it was really good. Have to make sure I see that one in a little more than a year. A little more than a year? What the? Weird stuff. But it´s fun. I love the work. It´s hard and things are actually really really slow here. Like it´s the slowest I´ve ever had it. We are teaching 10 lessons a week and I´m used to about 20. And the thing that is hard is that there are people to teach here, we just aren´t finding them. But I know that I just need to personally be working hard and obedient and the Lord will help me through. It´s all about trusting in him. He helps us out always. I´m so grateful for his love and all he does for us. And I´m so grateful to have you all as my family. I love you all so much. Thanks for everything, the package, and the support. You are really the best family anyone could ask for. Sorry this email is short, but I spent a lot of time talking to Skyler and stuff. But I hope you all are doing great. I´m doing good. Ready to turn 20, which is really weird. Keep praying for Skyler and maybe an occasional one for me if you have a few extra minutes :) Love you all so much. Keep me posted.

Hola familia!
First off, HAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPYYYYYYYY BBBIIIIIIIIRRRRRTTTHHDDDAAAAAAAAY MOOOOOMMMMMAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So sadly I have not been to Portugal yet. But I have been to Sevilla, which is one of the more famous cities in Spain. It´s also like the hottest. It was burning up. So Skyler is off in Korea! I haven´t heard from him yet, but I´m sure he´s doing great. So I´ll give you the scoop on my new area. My comps name is Elder Curtis. He´s from Salt Lake and has been out for about 4 months. He went to East High so he loves High School Musical. Just kidding. He´s a big kid. He played football for Dixie and weighed about 330 at that point. He´s dropped a ton of weight, but still a big kid. We won´t be getting messed with by any Spaniards, that´s for sure. And Badajoz. Badajoz is about 800 years old. It´s a city of about 150,000 people. The rama has 50-60 active members and they are amazing. They are super helpful and willing when it comes to missionary work and we are really excited to work with them. We have people from everywhere in the rama here. Peruvians, Colombians, Brasiliens, Portugese, Spaniards, members from Angola, China, all over the place. It´s pretty crazy. Here in the area we also have a set of Hermanas. They are both from Utah too! So for Utah missionaries in one Rama, pretty great. This week has been a tough one, but we are figuring it all out. We just need to get a good base here in the area. But once we figure it out I´m sure things will all work out. I miss Valdepeñas a ton, but that´s okay.
So Skyler is in Korea! That´s so crazy. I remember the flight to Spain. It was only like 12 hours, instead of 24, but I was still exhausted. We got to go to bed early and wake up a little late though so that was good. But it all depends on the President, but I´m sure he´ll let them rest a bit. It´s super crazy for me to think that my little brother is a missionary. Super weird. But it´s awesome. One of the hermanas has a brother in Japan right now. And he´s actually going home pretty soon. Crazy stuff. So mom you´re thinking about becoming a vegetarian, huh? Well let me just remind you of a little place called Tucanos. Could you really ditch out on Tucanos when we go again, becuase when I get back we shall be going to Tucanos :) Meat is just way too good. So what are the other plans for the birthday? Can you put some cake in my package? :) Just kidding that would be gross. Oh and my address here in Badajoz is:

and to the mission home is:

You can send the package to either one. If there is one thing I could ask for for you to add, it would be my dark blue v neck (shirt) That´s about it. Oh and the whole ATM thing, yeah that stunk. I was in Sevilla without money, so I had to take some out with my card. I didn´t think it would take out that much! That´s insane. But it won´t happen again, believe you me. But I hope things go well for you this week, I´m really excited to hear from you again. Love you all a ton!

Hello family,
So first off. We are really short on time today. We came up to Sevilla and found a place to do email, but they charge 4 euros an hour, which is ridiculous. So maybe someday I´ll get to email you more, but for now, this is it. Well Things are going really great here in Badajoz. The rama is awesome and the people are great. I´ve met lots of portugese people and they are all super nice. Portugese is pretty close to spanish, but still a little hard to understand. But I´m hopin to get the hang of it. But things really are going great. They just barely put Elders here, so it´s a whole new world for us, but things are still going well. The work is slow at the moment, but we are hoping to pick it up pretty soon. But I love it. It´s a city of about 150,000 people, so a little bit bigger than Valdepeñas. But I miss Valdepeñas a ton to be honest. But it´s all good. Oh yeah, we have some members and investigators that live in Portugal, so it´s super likely like 100% that I´ll get to go to Portugal one of these days. Sweet! But yeah it´s good stuff. So it sounds like things are going great there. I can´t believe Bills gets to direct In The Heights, how lucky does that guy get? And good work on his part taking out the swearing and casting Latinos. Ammon, you should get me his email so I can send him and email and ask him about it. And it sounds like Singers retreat was an experience. Where did you go?And it sounds like you´re basically just a beast Logan. Good work. And yeah that train crash was pretty intense, but the missionary is super famous here now. Hopefully that will help the work a bit :) He said when he got off the train it was like he was in the Walking Dead (a TV show about zombies). Pretty crazy stuff. I can´t believe Skyler is leaving. Today! And that Josh Warr is back, that blows my mind. It´s cool that the missionaries are coming over. Tell Ammon to give Trevor Williams to them for a reference. That kid needs the gospel. Well love you all and sorry the email is short. Keep up the good work and feed those missionaries good. If you do maybe they´ll feed me here :)
Love,
Elder Charlie Flint
PS more birthday package ideas. Ranch dressing mixes. Like the packets you can use to make it. That would be realy good. And I had thought of something else but I forgot it. So yeah, just that :) Oh and if you want it to get to me before the birthday it should be farely soon. We´ll have two more chances in the month of August I believe. Just so you know. It doesn´t have to be here before my birthday or anything. but yeh. Love you and thank you!

Hola familia,
Wow I can´t believe Brother German passed away. What is happening to our neighborhood. I hope Brother Johnson can pull through a little longer. I´d like to be able to say goodbye to him. Send my love to Sister German. Let her know that I appreciate all the opportunities I had to spend with her and her husband. They are wonderful people. Summer really is flying by. I can´t believe how fast time goes. We are at the end of this transfer, so I may be leaving Valdepeñas this next week. We are kinda in the mountains, dad. But really all the mountains here are only hills. But it´s pretty gorgeous. Olive trees and grape vines everywhere. I love olive trees. And the olives here aren´t bad either. Somehow I´ve been able to choke them down :) Mom, you would love it. Oh and dad, que va, hombre. Because I feel confidant enough in my spanish to say that now. I´m still improving, but it´s a good feeling to understand a whole conversation completely. So basically I love all the names of the bunnies. Super awesome. Harry Potter is the best. Oh and about the money from Christmas. Honestly I haven´t used like any of it yet. The reason is basically becuase I´m afraid that it won´t work here. But I should try it. I think I´ll have to use it in a bigger store, becasue a lot of little stores here don´t take cards. But I´ll be trying to spend it soon. Maybe I´ll buy a nice spanish suit for 35 euros with it :) I love cheap dress clothes! And for my birthday. Am I really turning 20 in a transfer? That´s weird. But the only things I can think of are the new 2013 EFY cd (I need some new tunes :) ) and flash drives are always good. That way I can put videos on them and watch them with investigators. Other than that, any kind of american candy or food. Beef Jerky is delicious as well as trail mix, and anything with peanut butter. Oh and if you can find a good maple extract, that would be awesome too (no syrup here, kinda a bummer). But yeah, really that´s all I can think of. Oh and to be honest I can´t really remember how to send picutres from the MTC exactly. I think you basically just need to "attach a file" to your email and then find the camara on "my computer" and then choose the pictures. I cán´t remember if there are any specific steps though. Good luck. Oh and that´s a great story from Logan, super funny :) And Ammon, when will they just finally decide what you´re going to be. It´s like you have multiple personality disorder or something. So a cool story this week. Nothing too exciting happened. Well we did have a talent show that me and Elder Durfey won (well tied for first with another act) I played Apologize on the piano and sang while he beatboxed. Pretty sweet. And so that answers your question papi, yeah I´ve played the piano (a lot) and sang. But other than that I´ve really just had the opportunity to see someone really change. We have an investigator that will be getting baptized this week. He has made a full 360 in his life. Before he was a natural man, but now he has put off the natural man and is willing to change completely. We talked about his baptismal date the other day and he said, no I´m not ready, I still have one thing to fix. And after talking for a little while I just said, well why not just change it? Right now, just decide to never do it again. You have that power and faith to just stop, why not just do it? So he said, you´re right, I´m just going to change. And so he did :) That´s all it takes. Just the determination and desire to change and then the faith and power to do it. And we all have that ability. We need to follow Spencer W Kimball´s advice and DO IT. I am so grateful for that ability that we have through the atoning sacrafice of our older brother. It is truly the greatest thing we have recieved. I love you all and wish you all the best. Keep up the good work.
Con amor,
Elder Charlie Flint

4th of July
4th of July!!!!
Woohoo!
Oh yeah, we each had two burgers and two brauts. Over-eating just like real Americans should :)
Love you all. And I love AMERICA!!!! :)
Hola familia,
First off, HAAAAAPPPPPYYYYYY BIIIIIIIIRRRRTHDAAAAAAAAAY PAAAPIIII!!!!!! What number is this 52? :) Just kiddin. I hope you had a fantastic day though. It sounds like you´ve had a good week over there in Utah. Lots of crazy stuff happening. Sounds like Carson and Steve have it made over there in Texas! That would be super fun for you all to head over there for the Holidays. Especially if you go to go to Six Flags or something. So here for the 4th of July, we didn´t have fireworks, but we did have hamburgers and brautwursts. It was pretty great, I´ll send a picture. That´s weird that they didn´t do any fireworks in Salem though. It super weird to me that the last 4th of July was a year ago! It feels like yesterday. Time is flying that´s for sure. But things are going really well here in Spain. To answer a few questions, the members are fantastic. The strong ones are just that, super strong. Sometimes they may be a little too strong and drive away menos activos, but they are just trying to do what is right. They understand the doctorines well and believe them, but they are really young in the church in the sense that they don´t really understand how things should run in a ward/branch. The missionaries do a lot here. A lot. Without them, the rama would have a really hard time functioning. But last night we had a fireside with President Deere, and he helped a lot I think. It was all about members working with missionaries to do the work, or really about how missionaries should be there just to help the members do the work instead of how the members should help the missionaries do the work. It all came from the special broadcast from the first presidency. Have you all seen that? It´s super good, I would definitely recommend it. But the members are great, they just need a little more experience on how a rama should function. But I appreciate them for sure, because they are trying to do what is right and here in Spain that´s hard enough to do. It sounds like some awesome, exciting things are happening for you all. Ammon´s going to drive soon? Elder Flint no like-it scary :) And a new drugie bunny. I can´t think of anything too clever. You could name it Marley or something :) Well I hope you all have a wonderful week this week and enjoy the summer break. Love you all a ton.

Hello
Hello hello helloooo,
Well things are going pretty great here in Spain. This week was really tranquilo. We went up to Málaga and I talked to Hna. Brimhall about her aunt, Becky or Becca, right? But yeah that was fun. Oh and I´m almost positive that is Elder Durfey. He talked to me about how Alex Boye is one of the biggest reasons he is on a mission, so it all adds up with what Sister Gerber said. He comes from a family of 9 kids and only he and two brothers are active in the church (and his parents) and he hasn´t always been active, so yep, that´s him. He´s a great missionary. So speaking of missionaries and missionary work, I watched the broadcast and it was fantastic, but we have not had any changes yet. I´m pretty sure we will be one of the last to have changes too. But it sounds like some interesting things are happening in the missionary field. It will be a whole new type of work by the time I´m done. And it´s all for the better. The Lord is going forward fast and he´s going about it in a smart way. It´s like he´s an all knowing being or something :) But really the members are the way to do missionary work and I really hope this broadcast helps the member missionary relationship increase. When I get home I really really want to help the missionaries as much as I can. It´s a little harder in Utah Valley, when you hardly ever see the Elders, but I´m sure if I tried hard enough I could help :) Skyler sounds like he´s doing awesome. He´s a stud and he´s going to be a rockstar missionary, de verdad! I´m so pumped to hear how he likes Korea when he gets there. So I definitely understand the heat. Up here it´s getting hotter and hotter every day. I don´t know if we´ve hit 100 yet, but it sure feels like it. But oh well, I just hope I don´t come home with skin cancer or something. Sounds like the bunnies are doing well, nice and comfy in my room :) That´s good. So let me get this strait. Netherland Dwarfs are the most rare, but are blue eyed whites like a diferent type of Netherland Dwarf? Or are they just bunnies that are blue eyed and white? And I hope grandma gets better soon. Tell her that I love her and that I´m praying for her. Sounds like Logan´s rocking the basketball court and Ammon the stage and Micah the ping pong table and Sophie the gymnastic floor and Savannah the bipolarness :) It´s going to be crazy to see how much they´ve changed, it already was crazy on Mother´s day. Sounds like your class is super profound too, Mom. But you are right, the best source of truth is the Holy Ghost. And not just spiritual truth. In Moroni 10:5 it says that the Holy Ghost will help us know the truth of ALL things. That´s a pretty great promise. I´ll be sure to study my scriptures as much as I study my textbooks when I get home for that very reason. Well I hope you all have a fantastic week. Oh and Dad our fechas are for this next month, so we are hoping the baptisms go through then. My compi is doing great, like I said, he´s a maquina! And the paella was riquisima, de verdad! Well love you all lots and keep me posted on all the crazy parts of life :)
