Hello family,
So first off. We are really short on time today. We came up to Sevilla and found a place to do email, but they charge 4 euros an hour, which is ridiculous. So maybe someday I´ll get to email you more, but for now, this is it. Well Things are going really great here in Badajoz. The rama is awesome and the people are great. I´ve met lots of portugese people and they are all super nice. Portugese is pretty close to spanish, but still a little hard to understand. But I´m hopin to get the hang of it. But things really are going great. They just barely put Elders here, so it´s a whole new world for us, but things are still going well. The work is slow at the moment, but we are hoping to pick it up pretty soon. But I love it. It´s a city of about 150,000 people, so a little bit bigger than Valdepeñas. But I miss Valdepeñas a ton to be honest. But it´s all good. Oh yeah, we have some members and investigators that live in Portugal, so it´s super likely like 100% that I´ll get to go to Portugal one of these days. Sweet! But yeah it´s good stuff. So it sounds like things are going great there. I can´t believe Bills gets to direct In The Heights, how lucky does that guy get? And good work on his part taking out the swearing and casting Latinos. Ammon, you should get me his email so I can send him and email and ask him about it. And it sounds like Singers retreat was an experience. Where did you go?And it sounds like you´re basically just a beast Logan. Good work. And yeah that train crash was pretty intense, but the missionary is super famous here now. Hopefully that will help the work a bit :) He said when he got off the train it was like he was in the Walking Dead (a TV show about zombies). Pretty crazy stuff. I can´t believe Skyler is leaving. Today! And that Josh Warr is back, that blows my mind. It´s cool that the missionaries are coming over. Tell Ammon to give Trevor Williams to them for a reference. That kid needs the gospel. Well love you all and sorry the email is short. Keep up the good work and feed those missionaries good. If you do maybe they´ll feed me here :)
Love,
Elder Charlie Flint

PS more birthday package ideas. Ranch dressing mixes. Like the packets you can use to make it. That would be realy good. And I had thought of something else but I forgot it. So yeah, just that :) Oh and if you want it to get to me before the birthday it should be farely soon. We´ll have two more chances in the month of August I believe. Just so you know. It doesn´t have to be here before my birthday or anything. but yeh. Love you and thank you!

Hola familia,
Wow I can´t believe Brother German passed away. What is happening to our neighborhood. I hope Brother Johnson can pull through a little longer. I´d like to be able to say goodbye to him. Send my love to Sister German. Let her know that I appreciate all the opportunities I had to spend with her and her husband. They are wonderful people. Summer really is flying by. I can´t believe how fast time goes. We are at the end of this transfer, so I may be leaving Valdepeñas this next week. We are kinda in the mountains, dad. But really all the mountains here are only hills. But it´s pretty gorgeous. Olive trees and grape vines everywhere. I love olive trees. And the olives here aren´t bad either. Somehow I´ve been able to choke them down :) Mom, you would love it. Oh and dad, que va, hombre. Because I feel confidant enough in my spanish to say that now. I´m still improving, but it´s a good feeling to understand a whole conversation completely. So basically I love all the names of the bunnies. Super awesome. Harry Potter is the best. Oh and about the money from Christmas. Honestly I haven´t used like any of it yet. The reason is basically becuase I´m afraid that it won´t work here. But I should try it. I think I´ll have to use it in a bigger store, becasue a lot of little stores here don´t take cards. But I´ll be trying to spend it soon. Maybe I´ll buy a nice spanish suit for 35 euros with it :) I love cheap dress clothes! And for my birthday. Am I really turning 20 in a transfer? That´s weird. But the only things I can think of are the new 2013 EFY cd (I need some new tunes :) )  and flash drives are always good. That way I can put videos on them and watch them with investigators. Other than that, any kind of american candy or food. Beef Jerky is delicious as well as trail mix, and anything with peanut butter. Oh and if you can find a good maple extract, that would be awesome too (no syrup here, kinda a bummer). But yeah, really that´s all I can think of. Oh and to be honest I can´t really remember how to send picutres from the MTC exactly. I think you basically just need to "attach a file" to your email and then find the camara on "my computer" and then choose the pictures. I cán´t remember if there are any specific steps though. Good luck. Oh and that´s a great story from Logan, super funny :) And Ammon, when will they just finally decide what you´re going to be. It´s like you have multiple personality disorder or something. So a cool story this week. Nothing too exciting happened. Well we did have a talent show that me and Elder Durfey won (well tied for first with another act) I played Apologize on the piano and sang while he beatboxed. Pretty sweet. And so that answers your question papi, yeah I´ve played the piano (a lot) and sang. But other than that I´ve really just had the opportunity to see someone really change. We have an investigator that will be getting baptized this week. He has made a full 360 in his life. Before he was a natural man, but now he has put off the natural man and is willing to change completely. We talked about his baptismal date the other day and he said, no I´m not ready, I still have one thing to fix. And after talking for a little while I just said, well why not just change it? Right now, just decide to never do it again. You have that power and faith to just stop, why not just do it? So he said, you´re right, I´m just going to change. And so he did :) That´s all it takes. Just the determination and desire to change and then the faith and power to do it. And we all have that ability. We need to follow Spencer W Kimball´s advice and DO IT. I am so grateful for that ability that we have through the atoning sacrafice of our older brother. It is truly the greatest thing we have recieved. I love you all and wish you all the best. Keep up the good work.
Con amor,
Elder Charlie Flint

PS I might be changing addresses this next week. I´ll let you know as soon as I can.

4th of July

                                                 4th of July!!!!

                                             Woohoo!

Oh yeah, we each had two burgers and two brauts. Over-eating just like real Americans should :)

Love you all. And I love AMERICA!!!! :)

Hola familia,
First off, HAAAAAPPPPPYYYYYY BIIIIIIIIRRRRTHDAAAAAAAAAY PAAAPIIII!!!!!! What number is this 52? :) Just kiddin. I hope you had a fantastic day though. It sounds like you´ve had a good week over there in Utah. Lots of crazy stuff happening. Sounds like Carson and Steve have it made over there in Texas! That would be super fun for you all to head over there for the Holidays. Especially if you go to go to Six Flags or something. So here for the 4th of July, we didn´t have fireworks, but we did have hamburgers and brautwursts. It was pretty great, I´ll send a picture. That´s weird that they didn´t do any fireworks in Salem though. It super weird to me that the last 4th of July was a year ago! It feels like yesterday. Time is flying that´s for sure. But things are going really well here in Spain. To answer a few questions, the members are fantastic. The strong ones are just that, super strong. Sometimes they may be a little too strong and drive away menos activos, but they are just trying to do what is right. They understand the doctorines well and believe them, but they are really young in the church in the sense that they don´t really understand how things should run in a ward/branch. The missionaries do a lot here. A lot. Without them, the rama would have a really hard time functioning. But last night we had a fireside with President Deere, and he helped a lot I think. It was all about members working with missionaries to do the work, or really about how missionaries should be there just to help the members do the work instead of how the members should help the missionaries do the work. It all came from the special broadcast from the first presidency. Have you all seen that? It´s super good, I would definitely recommend it. But the members are great, they just need a little more experience on how a rama should function. But I appreciate them for sure, because they are trying to do what is right and here in Spain that´s hard enough to do. It sounds like some awesome, exciting things are happening for you all. Ammon´s going to drive soon? Elder Flint no like-it scary :) And a new drugie bunny. I can´t think of anything too clever. You could name it Marley or something :) Well I hope you all have a wonderful week this week and enjoy the summer break. Love you all a ton.
Love,
Elder Charlie Flint

Hello

Hello hello helloooo,
Well things are going pretty great here in Spain. This week was really tranquilo. We went up to Málaga and I talked to Hna. Brimhall about her aunt, Becky or Becca, right? But yeah that was fun. Oh and I´m almost positive that is Elder Durfey. He talked to me about how Alex Boye is one of the biggest reasons he is on a mission, so it all adds up with what Sister Gerber said. He comes from a family of 9 kids and only he and two brothers are active in the church (and his parents) and he hasn´t always been active, so yep, that´s him. He´s a great missionary. So speaking of missionaries and missionary work, I watched the broadcast and it was fantastic, but we have not had any changes yet. I´m pretty sure we will be one of the last to have changes too. But it sounds like some interesting things are happening in the missionary field. It will be a whole new type of work by the time I´m done. And it´s all for the better. The Lord is going forward fast and he´s going about it in a smart way. It´s like he´s an all knowing being or something :) But really the members are the way to do missionary work and I really hope this broadcast helps the member missionary relationship increase. When I get home I really really want to help the missionaries as much as I can. It´s a little harder in Utah Valley, when you hardly ever see the Elders, but I´m sure if I tried hard enough I could help :) Skyler sounds like he´s doing awesome. He´s a stud and he´s going to be a rockstar missionary, de verdad! I´m so pumped to hear how he likes Korea when he gets there. So I definitely understand the heat. Up here it´s getting hotter and hotter every day. I don´t know if we´ve hit 100 yet, but it sure feels like it. But oh well, I just hope I don´t come home with skin cancer or something. Sounds like the bunnies are doing well, nice and comfy in my room :) That´s good. So let me get this strait. Netherland Dwarfs are the most rare, but are blue eyed whites like a diferent type of Netherland Dwarf? Or are they just bunnies that are blue eyed and white? And I hope grandma gets better soon. Tell her that I love her and that I´m praying for her. Sounds like Logan´s rocking the basketball court and Ammon the stage and Micah the ping pong table and Sophie the gymnastic floor and Savannah the bipolarness :) It´s going to be crazy to see how much they´ve changed, it already was crazy on Mother´s day. Sounds like your class is super profound too, Mom. But you are right, the best source of truth is the Holy Ghost. And not just spiritual truth. In Moroni 10:5 it says that the Holy Ghost will help us know the truth of ALL things. That´s a pretty great promise. I´ll be sure to study my scriptures as much as I study my textbooks when I get home for that very reason. Well I hope you all have a fantastic week. Oh and Dad our fechas are for this next month, so we are hoping the baptisms go through then. My compi is doing great, like I said, he´s a maquina! And the paella was riquisima, de verdad! Well love you all lots and keep me posted on all the crazy parts of life :)
Os amo,
Elder Flint
