Hello my wonderful family!
How are you all doing? Sounds like things this week were pretty awesome! I heard a lot of good things about your farewell talk Skyler, good work! Way to bring Lord of the Rings into it! A girl in our rama here used that same quote in a talk a few weeks ago, or at least I think it was that quote. But it sounds like you did great and that your going to be super prepared. I´m so excited and so proud of you. So things are still kinda going crazy. I guess here in a few weeks rest may or may not come :) I´m sure you all are doing great though. So dad requested that I send a litte bit about a normal day here in Valdepeñas. Oh and ps, I´m going to be here for at least a transfer and a half more, so if anyone asks for an address or anything it´s safe to give them this one. And I love Valdepeñas, a lot. I´m really happy to be staying here, so don´t worry about me. Things are going great. So the normal day here in Valdepeñas starts (during the summer) and 7:30 in the mañana, a time that would make all other missionaries green with envy :) We get up, excersise for half an hour (usually sit ups, curls, pushups, sometimes running, things like that) and then one of us eats breakfast while the other showers. The breakfast I usually eat is either cereal or a batido, which is like a smoothie. The smoothie usually consists of yogurt, ice, strawberries, a banana, and a handful of spinach. It´s really good stuff :) Then we start personal study for an hour at 9. After personal study we have comp study at 10 and at 11 we are out the door. We go to lessons, contact in the street and do anything and everything to fulfil our purpose as missionaries until 2 o clock. At two we come in and have mediodia. In Spain everything closes down and everyone goes home from about 2-5 in the afternoon. People are sleeping and eating with there families, so as missionaries we take that time to eat, do Spanish study, and work on our area book and other records. The big meal here in Spain is at this time, so we usually eat a pretty hearty meal. We eat a lot of pasta, but sometimes we make other things and sometimes people invite us over to eat. So we come in at 2, eat, work on the area book, study Spanish, and at 5 we are back out on the streets working. We work until 10:15 at night and then head back to piso. In a good day we have about 3-4 good lessons and 3-4 futures (people that say we can talk to them some day) We do a lot of talking to people in the streets and knocking doors. Elder Tiexierra, the Seventy of our area, says that talking to everyone is the price of success. So we do our best to always be looking for the elect and talking to everyone we can. At 10:15 we are back in piso and it´s time to plan for the next day. That´s when we recieve a lot of revelation and guidance from the Lord for what to do. It´s hard after an exhausting day, to sit down and rack your brain and heart for things to do the next day, but it´s always worth it. After planning we get ready for bed. We have time to eat a little dinner (like toast or something) write in our journals and just kinda get ready to sleep. Then at 11:30 lights are out and we start again the next day. It´s a fun schedule, tough, but it´s worth it. Hope that answers some of your questions. Love you all a ton and I´m so excited for all that is going on. I´m going to email you, Skyler, this next week to see how you´re doing. I can´t believe that my little brother is going to be a missionary! So amazing. Well love you all and I´ll talk to you next week!
Love,
Elder Charlie Flint
